Focus on stuff that actually matters and not little pansy stuff like this.

True^ but you could invest in some fat grips. I never used them but I want too. I heard some good reviews on them.

I don't think you realize who you're talking to.

In my experience forearms and calves are almost impossible to get growing if one doesn't have the genetics for it.
I've literally tryed everything over the years for these 2 body parts and i have barely gotten anything out of it.
It's the same thing for my brother, we are bound to our skinny calves/forearms

PS, with neck, do you mean upper trapezius? If so, i highly recommend that you to add some direct and dynamic training for them (shrugs).

Forearms I've done palms down wrist curls. Reverse barbell curls. Farmer grips. But as far as the neck goes maybe just put some synthol in there.

Layne Norton has often said that if you want legs that look like you can squat 500 pounds, train to be able to squat 500 pounds.

Likewise, if you want to look like you can crush a baseball with your grip, because your forearms are so big, train to be able to. There's no way to improve your grip strength and not have your forearms grow. If you use straps for rows or deads, stop. Exercises directly for grip strength include farmer's walks, static barbell holds as heavy as you can handle for timed reps, hanging from a fat chin-up bar for timed reps, and plate pinches for timed reps. -3X

@eknight agreed. No straps at all. farmers walks are also great. My favourites for forearms on direct movements are behind the back barbell wrist curls, and reverse curls with Olympic bars

Why would squatting build your neck?

Which muscles in particular are you referring to? -3X

@eknight do you have any experience with fat grips?

They actually sell neck harnesses so you can do weighted neck curls. Never used one, but I imagine it would work just as well as working out any other muscle.

Wrestlers and fighters also do neck bridges, and they usually have big necks. They're pretty uncomfortable and can be dangerous, so that's kind of an iffy subject.

Maybe look at a few NFL strength and conditioning programs. Most players have a decent set of traps / neck.

If I do lunges holding DBs would that be like doing farmers walks and lunges at the same time?

@TimmothyGen not personally, but I've heard nothing but good things.

@qtdreams92 only if you're doing lunges with 70-80 pound DBs. -3X

If you want a big neck look on YouTube for how wrestlers train their necks. It's a part of everyday training for them. Probably lots of exersies you have never thought of.
