So I got to hit 4x8 today I tried dipping since a long time of not dipping, 1: 8 2: 7 3: 6.5 4: 6 should I just keep doing them and it'll eventually even to 4x8?
Ps - my chest never had a shape it's always been shapeless and nasty, time to get serious... Will this suffice: Well I was a power lifter up to now.
ABCABCX SUN-FRI TRAINING HITTING EVERY MUSCLE 2x SATURDAY I REST.

I would be extremely careful with dips, especially at the end of a workout where your front delts are already being hammered. Some people on SS swear by dips, but I messed my shoulder up BAD doing them (even with good form and no weight attached).

I'd consider doing something like cable flies to finish off your chest day instead of dips.

Just my two cents.

@McQueef say I do chuck em out, is more volume needed on chest days? Seriously looking for that nice big chest

From what I understand, the ideal rep range for chest hypertrophy is 8-12, or even better, 10-12.

I wouldn't avoid doing 8 rep sets in general, but it seems to fall in between strength training and hypertrophy specific training.

Get the best of both worlds and consider doing PHAT!

What he said, personally I like dips, but they are a bit dangerous if done with poor form. I've strained my neck and hurt my shoulder from doing them late in the workout.

Now I do them second, only after my heavy 5x5 BB Bench. That way my form stays tighter, I feel it in the muscles I'm meant to, plus no injuries.

Switched my dips for kickbacks and rolling db extensions, prefer it so much more. Dips feel alpha, but smart is better
