i worked on biceps and chest on tuesday, and i know you're supposed to give your muscles rest. but on wednesday i did a few chest workouts at school (light weight, high repitition, nothing heavy) and i also did back and tris, but almost every tris and back thing i did used the chest or biceps to.. would this use hurt my progress?

I'm not clear on your goals here - maybe other people are - so I can't make any decision on how this affected your progress towards unclear goals.
