Ek, Im curious, have you ever injured yourself from the bench press, like any strains or tears?

I have set a lifetime goal of 315lb bench press pr, but im afraid ill get unjured later down the road, due to the sheer load.
Because Ive seen guys tear their pec from a 275lb bench with good form.

@forgottenpass you can't worry about what "might" happen down the road. Do things right and take care of yourself and you'll be fine. Most guys don't tear their pec.

@Pikadrew the dip into the chest is a no no. Bro, you’ve got a good bench. Considering your age and training experience it’s damn good. No hate. I’m impressed. Just think, IMO, your form needs cleaned up at the bottom of the lift. Stay strong my man!

@forgottenpass I made it up to several contest performed 400+ pound benches and never had an injury. I’ve also had a grade 2 pec tear years after those lifts with only 295 on the bar. As wannabe mentioned, you train right and have faith in the process. If it’s gonna happen it isn’t necessarily because of the amount of weight. Don’t let fear dictate your training. -3X

He’s also 16 years old. His body’s still developing and I would doubt he has as many years of training experience as you do, although he’d have to speak to that. Definitely not an apples to apples comparison. -3X
