Dropping Calories on Rest Days19286

Since about 2012 I have always done my cuts with an overall caloric deficit 7 days per week.

For example (even numbers for ease of question).

Days lifting / cardio = 2500 calories
Rest Days = 2500 calories

Normally this works fine, but I want to change it up coming into this summer /comp season.

Recommendations?

As long as your overall calories are in a deficit it doesn't matter too much how they're distributed.

If it’s been working fine, why do you “want” to change it up? That’s illogical. Further it won’t help. Metabolism and GI transit don’t reset at 24 hour intervals or follow a clock. Further, because MPS remains elevated at least 48 hours post-training, your nutrition should remain consistent throughout the week. -3X

You will need the calories for recovery. As long as you are in a total deficit then you recomp will maintain it route.
