rest day...no rest day? Myth?17632

I know every person is different when it comes to their bodies and what works for them.
But I've been hearing some off things lately, about how rest days are not needed. Granted I sometimes wish my body could withstand 7 days a week. But I have seen results with 2 days rest and 5 days on.
I was just curious if anyone else has come across this statement before?

I train 7 days a week simply because I like it. I feel like off days are punishment. Granted, 2/7 are just core & cardio, but I'm there getting it in nonetheless.

I'm starting to feel that way lately. Throwing in cardio wouldn't hurt me.

Rest days are needed.

You can have active recovery days though in which you do Self- Myofascial Release, walking, Yoga, swimming, etc.
But even professional athletes have off days in which they do nothing.

Idk what your workouts are like, but maybe the intensity is not high enough and need to increase it.

@FiremanSi lol...I won't disagree, I could always be doing things harder!!

@Jsn3004 workouts are pretty rough, but I have been increasing weights and going harder on my HIIT.

@emmyweird84. You built your muscle when you recover. how can you recover if you don't have enough rest?.
Like what @FiremanSi said. If your able to lift without rest days, you are not training hard enough.

@emmyweird84 Then you seem fine then. I don't know what your training is like, but if you're increasing weights and the intensity is up there, seems to be working fine.
