Im new to the forum so il give u the background.. Ive been lifting for a little over one year but it seems my body looks the same.. Im 6' 1" 179 about 15% bf although i dont believe the measurement.. I have been busting ass and definitly got alot stronger but i dont know what direction to go in.. I dont think i can cut at 6' 1' 179 it seems thats too skinny and i dont want to gain anymore fat by bulking .. It seems my muscles never get any less soft and its really fucking irritating..any advice would be great

You can lift all you want, but if your diet is not in check for your goals you will not see results.

Read our FAQ thread and figure our your caloric/macro needs: SS FAQ

I'll guess you need to make some adjustments.

Right now I just started a cut so its 2970 ..270g protein 270g carbs (next week dropping down further) 90g fat

I was at 3314 a day for several months trying to gain ..270g protein 355g carbs 90g fat

The routine I used was
M chest back triceps
T biceps
W abs
T chest back triceps
F biceps

I've had trouble getting a good routine down but recently decided to go with this more balanced one starting next week

M chest shoulders triceps
T biceps upper back
W legs abs lower back
T chest shoulders triceps
F biceps upper back

@User7787 Sweet baby Jesus why are u consuming so much protein !!
Ur 180lbs man... 180-200 is plenty I prefer the higher end of that for cutting !!
Add the rest of the cals to carbs !!
I'd say u'll see a difference in body comp with this alone !!

Ur routines are awful.

Especially for a burg finer that needs to LEARN how to do the main lifts.
If I were u I'd be starting with a full body program that has an A & B day !!
U Definately need to be hitting legs at least twice a week anyway !!

Protein too high

Routine too complex given your physique.. looking at your pics, you should really go for a box-standard routine. Your split just looks weird.

The reason I restricted carbs is fear of getting fatter lol

Carbs don't make you fat. Excess calories do.

Carbs might make you retain a little bit of water which makes you look a little fatter in the mirror........ I wouldn't worry about water retention.

At your stage looking at your pictures, I think you're in a win-win situation. Even if you appear a little fat in the mirror due to water retention from carbs, its not like that water retention is masking abs or a six pack.

Just be honest with yourself. If carbs help with your training and energy levels which they do for most, favour them IMO.
