18 inch arm question16230

csizemore21 private msg quote post Address this user
Is it honestly possible to get 18 inch "lean" 10% or under arms without being on something? Just curious bc I've been looking at charts and it seems very uncommon even for natural pros

Honestly, I think it may be possible, but for a very small amount of people. I am 21, 6'2, 195 and I measured my arms a few days ago and they were just barley over 17, but I did workout before. I am also 11 percent bodyfat. I've always been active in sports and started working out in college. I've stuck to my diet pretty hard for almost the last 4 years. If there is one thing I learned throughout college is that hard work and dedication can get you far. But I've also learned that genetics do play a HUGE part in this. Although I've worked my ass off, logging in my workouts, preparing my meals, counting macros, staying away from drinking alot like people do in college. I highly attribute my gains to genetics. So I think if you want those 17+ inch lean arms, you better be pretty blessed in the gene pool.

I would imagine it's possble depending on mostly genetics and years training with a consistent diet. Once you get really lean though you look bigger anyways so 17" might look like 18".

Just get fat bro. I got 18s at 25+% boom.

In all honesty I think its possible just depending on time training and genetic factors.

Who cares? Just like XXX% body fat, it's an arbitrary and random number. -3X

Thanks for the detailed answers guys and @eknight I like having goals, one goal is bigger arms and to stay lean. Just like you probably had a goal to get a good bench press even though it would be completely irrelevant to anything else outside of lifting? So in short I care lol.

Physical strength is not nearly as irrelevant as appearance. -3X

@eknight that's an opinion, I mean I'd definitely suffice with a bench in the 3s and look awesome and feel healthy, but it all comes down to preference sir.

I'm sure it's possible, but it probably comes down to genetics. Not that you can't always get bigger, but unless you are really close to already having 18" after lifting for 5+ years, it might not be within your natural limit.
