DB bench and shoulder help16134

Powerbuilder private msg quote post Address this user
Hi all,

When doing db bench press as soon as I have to really push the weight, it seems as if my right shoulder doesnt stay tight and pressed into the bench and instead wants to push forward as well. Because of this instability I am greatly weaker with db's than I am with a barbell. In addition my db shoulder press is much stronger than my db chest press...

Anyone have any ideas as to what's going wrong?

Focus on scapular retraction on the bench

Can you do DB press properly with 30lb dumbbells? 20s? At what weight do you not have the ability to maintain proper form?

So normally I would use the 24kgs/50lbs for sets of 8 but as soon as it gets heavy or to the last few, my shoulder loses stability, I've dropped the weight and As soon as I start to struggle or it becomes challenging, it loses stability.
