The vid below just hit my FB feed today. Makes me curious to try the slingshot.

Curious for feedback from guys who use one.
--Which one did you get?
--What size did get?
--What height and weight are you?

I'm thinking of going with the Yellow Full Boar one, because I like how it has the angled sleeves for a better fit.

Sling Shot® Size Weight (lbs)
Medium Under 140 lbs
Large 141-180 lbs
XL 181-220 lbs
2XL 221-300 lbs
3XL Over 300 lbs

Full Boar Sling Shot® Size Weight (lbs)
Large 141-165 lbs
XL 166-195 lbs

I absolutely love my slingshot. Definitely worth the money.

I fail to see the difference between the slingshot and benching against bands

@WinnersNeverQuit with the slingshot, you get use to holding heavier weights.

Would doing reverse banded benching not serve the same purpose?

Seen a few guys do that at my gym, these guys have 400lb bench presses...

Except that the slingshot acts on your body, not just the weight. It helps lock you into good form and is supposed to be good for coming out of and working through injuries. This is why I want to try it.

@_RudeCrew surely free weight + banded weight= total weight regarding bands anyway.

@wannabemuscular I don't see why locking into normal form with weight plus bands is any different, other than slingshot keeps elbows in? Which surely is like a crutch instead of learning to do it naturally.

@Trev182 yea that would work too. Another thing the slingshot does is forces you to tuck your elbows and bench with good form.

Fairenough.

Seen a few people on youtube use the slingshot, nick wright loves his. And obviously mark bell utilises it alot.

I wont look into something like that since my bench still sucks.

@_RudeCrew haha no hate I just think it seems like another gimmick really. I mean it's clever marketing in that it's easier and I guess more conveninent than bands, but the concept of making the top portion harder is nothing new.

Oh its improving, but on the grand scheme of things, it sucks haha!

Maybe once i hit 300lb + and plateau the slingshot would be something that would interest me.

@Trev182 300 is mind fucking me. I tried it twice on Saturday and I got it like 5 inches off my chest but couldn't finish it. I was so mad.

@WinnersNeverQuit I agree it's nothing new but it's way more convenient than doing bands. The normal gym rats that use the slingshot would not know how the hell to set up bands haha

Oh I also forgot to add, main reason for my preference of bands over that are that it's easy to get variations in the level of resistance they provide and can be used on squats and deads as well.
