Good day, i have a question regarding shoulder presses, is it better, in an injury perspective, to press with the elbows more in front of the body and on the way down tuck the upper arms next to your body then doing it with the elbows further out, like in a db press?

What made me ask was this video, if what he shows is true then wouldn't it be safer to press with a neutral grip where the elbows are pointing forward?

He's correct, but his illustration of the scapular plane is a little inaccurate when he demonstrates it. See the image below:




You don't need to go into full neutral position (the sagittal plane). I think I misunderstood what you were asking, because I do my DB shoulder presses in the scapular plane anyway. -3X
