Program after Smolov13871

nine0seven private msg quote post Address this user
My amazing smolov journey will be ending this Friday & then it will be time to test my new maxes so stoked to say the least!

I need some advice for a program to follow this up for the next 3-6 months. Maybe a hypertrophy based program? GVT seems to catch my interest, however, it's only 6 weeks long. Or should I run PHAT? Or perhaps GVT for 6 weeks then PHAT? Thoughts & advice appreciated (:

Yessir. I read through the article on muscleandstrength.com, it is definitely interesting. However, i'm not sure about deloading every 4th week: I usually deload every 8-10 weeks at the least. But I like the 5/3/1 concept very much from a strength perspective.

Increase hyper more so than strength since I've been on smolov. A mix would be fine, but hyper is the goal.

I was planning on doing the full program, but 2 powerlifters I know at my gym only gained 10 pounds on the second half of smolov. They got 50 pounds off the meso cycle. They've been guiding me through and recommended I run the meso cycle.

On second thought, maybe it's best I run the full program and squeeze out as many gains as possible.

50 pounds added to their max squat. The meso cycle is known to do that.
