Seen some people doing this.

Barbell bench press then immediately after dumbell bench press. Overhead press barbell then immediately following dumbell overhead press. Barbell curl then dumbell curl. Is this just a way to get more volume or are they doing this for another reason.

Would doing this help to increase strength quicker or no?

Oh and im pretty sure they are doing 3x5 or 5x5 with barbell and then x3 sets of 8-12 with dumbells

If they wanted more volume why not stick to barbell and same rep range?

I imagine its just to switch things up. I used to do it just for the sake of doing a different exercise so the workout won't become stale. I've since moved on to more effective strategies

If you feel like your right side is stronger than your left, dumbbell bench press can help to address that imbalance.
