Chest gains on a deficit.10686

A friend of mine increased his chest size whilst on a deficit. Admittedly his chest was severely lacking compared to other parts of his body. The strength of his accessory muscles (tris/shoulders) meant that he was able to lift relatively heavy for a nooby.

My question is it possible for anomalies to occur? Did his chest increase in size due to the fact the muscle in his chest was minimal to begin with? Are there any studies relevant?

I think the reduction in bodyfat makes the chest more prominent. I don't know if that is whats happened in this case but from what I have seen, that reduction in fat around the abdomen will make the chest appear to stick out even further.
