When i do it i do it prior to benching. U should feel a SLIGHT pec stretch if their very tight, and u should feel ur shoulder sliding back into the glenohumeral joint slightly. I think it's a good stretch for people with bad posture also.

It is very easy to take it overboard with mobility work and end up doing a lot of unneccesary work. Things I look to work on for my main lifts: Bench: Thoraic Extension, Shoulder IR/ER, Pectoral tightness Squat: Thoraic Extension, Hip ER, Hamsrtring tightness, and ankle dorsiflextion Deadlift: Thoraic Extension, Elbow Extension, Hamstring Tightness

After that if i was starting on military press i would do 20 reps with the bar and then 20 reps with 10kg a side then begin.
