Insoluble fiber does not provide energy inside the body because we lack the enzymes needed to break it down, thus insoluble contributes 0 kcals per gram. Soluble fiber is partially fermented, at around 2 kcals per gram. OP- In the US, the FDA does not require manufacturers to include insoluble fiber in kcal count on nutrition labels. Accordingly, the general practice within the food industry is not to include insoluble fiber...
