Heavy rack pulls, heavy deadlifts, farmers walks for traps.

Joe recommends (in video above):

- Single Arm BB Shrug

- Farmers Walk

- Face pulls

Trap anatomy is such that being in a slightly bent over position with shoulders in full protraction will get he best stretch, then retract to the top and slight pause to reduce chances of momentum.
A mix of heavy deads, carring weight for time and those bent over db higher reps shrugs in the 12+ rep range is what I’ve taken from all my readings on the topic !!

Spot on thankyou. I'm guessing the single arm BB shrug is something to do with more stress on traps from imbalance!

@FiremanSi fabulous advice thankyou. I was reading a tip, apparently dumbbell shrugs between each and every set regardless of muscle group or regime!! What you guys think?

I don't train traps directly, but I can tell you they blow up when I do heavy deads consistently.
