Is this normal? Myofascial release. Rawsteel 9 2 yearsFiremanSi (42217): @Rawsteel Increasing ur internal or external rotation is not something u can change with a few stertches and trigger point releases. It's like strength u can't just get drastically stronger in a week these things take ALOT of time. So keep doing what ur doing, the fact u've had some success already is a credit to ur effort so far. It is most like not just that.. u seem to have well developed pecs.. tight pecs can lead to internal rotation of...

painful bench cbondy 7 2 yearscbondy (58): @Gianluca69 yes he says shrug them up but then back and down so as you get the feeling of the ROM. i may work on some band pull apart see if that helps as i am slightly protracted. does anyone ever feel like they don't have that mind muscle connection with their pec like i can't tense it very well or feel like I'm using that muscle during the exercise?

Winged Scapula illwill 2 3 yearsNitrogenetic (10): sup bro, i had this for 2 months and ive just fixed mine; my winging cause impingment which hurt when i did overhead pressing movements and just lifting my arms about head level. also my shoulder clicked when i brought my arms down from an overhead possition. heres how i fixed it; - practice squeezing your shoulder blades together and hold for 5-10 secs, do this multiple times a day. - try and correct your posture when your sitting. its hard...
update on shoulder problems Gianluca69 2 3 yearstenax (127): I am not a PT just a random guy on the interwebz so take this with a grain of salt. It's just a starting point for your own research. There are two types of muscles that rotate your arm internally: the subscapularis muscles that attach from the humeral head to under the shoulder blade, and your pecs. If the subscapularis is under-performing, it won't hold the joint in the socket tightly, and the pecs will pull your shoulder joint forward...
shoulder injury help csizemore21 10 3 yearscsizemore21 (799): Went to a physician and was told it was my ac joint. Basically told me I could still lift, but nothing heavy for 2 to 4 weeks. She didn't really clarify what heavy was though, anyone with knowledge of this think using like 50% or my 1rm for pressing would be okay. Like 12 to 15 reps with no struggle
When you know your ready-Shoulder Impingment Gianluca69 5 3 yearsGianluca69 (115): Thanks for the reply Eric, What I plan on doing is to continue with no upper body resistance movements and just let the shoulder heal. I will also be icing the shoulder at least a few times a day, and also will be performing rehabilitative exercises such as rotations with bands to try and strengthen the rotator cuff muscles. Hopefully I will see an improvement in the impingement test within a weeks time with my continuation of this stuff.
Shoulder pain, any tips? Rand 5 3 yearsDiLawn (10): I tore my bicep tendon a few years ago and I "took" a few weeks off, I lifted lighter, and it got better for a while but it flares up every once and a while doing real heavy on shoulders. The doctor told me it may not heal and it may but that the bicep tendon isn't that important any way so it's fine if it breaks.. so hopefully you don't have that. but I would try some bio freeze cream stuff on you week off to help sooth it.
Calcific Tendonitis of the Shoulder Elminister 13 3 yearsElminister (3412): Today I did my first workout in over a month. My shoulders have been aching for last couple of days despite not being under any stress. I hit some baby weights just to get the blood flowing, but it still felt great after such lengthy pause. My shoulders have now stopped aching. If I get less pain tomorrow, I'll repeat this workout 2-3 times a week. Otherwise I'll just drop the gym all together for a few months. Shoulder injury chriselkins 7 3 yearsFiremanSi (42217): @chriselkins What about trying the shoulder mobility dril by diesel crew with the small band... Ur boy Matt does it to warm up upper body. Going through that warm-up might help u target the area at which is most painful... Alot of internal external, rotational and dislocation work in the drill. This way u can target what specifically is sore and now how to treat and what to avoid.

shoulder pain during wide grip chins jaydiddy85 13 4 yearsRawsteel (940): A common theory (more like myth) is that the wider your grip is when doing pull ups and lat pull-downs, the “wider” your lats will become. In reality however, a super wide pull up/pull down grip just means less range of motion and the increased potential for shoulder injuries as a result of the dangerous position they are put in.

I want to make sure I got this straight. the 5x5 sets are not static numbers, its a ramp up to 5 rep set. so, to figure out the increments, I take my 5 rep max and go based on 10% of said max? ex. max 5 rep is 200. so each set should be 20 pound increments? so the sets would be 120x5, 140x5, 160x5, 180x5 then 200x5+ for the last set? do I have that correct? also, it looks like...

shoulder pains when doing chest ethandpeterson 12 4 yearsFiremanSi (42217): Have to say that shoulder routine has saved me alot of shoulder trouble... reduced the serious amount of clicking. Also i'd imagine ur form isnt the best on the bench. Not fully retracting shoulder blades and coming down to far and too fast with the weight... puts ALOT of tension on the front delt and rotator cuff (Very tempermental muscle grouping). Switch from flat to decline, less tension on shoulders personally i've found works well for me.

U INJURED ?? READ THIS....... FiremanSi 17 4 yearsAarronStenner (10990): ^ if it is the proximal tendon and its a tear go see a doc, if you have pulled it or just tweaked it do shoulder mobility exercises because the tendon is closely related to the rotator cuff. Hurt my shoulder Markovich 9 5 yearsNeverbackdown19 (183): was having the same problem not too long ago. Started focusing on strengthening my rotator cuff when i do any upper body workouts. Also, stopped going too much below 90 degrees on pressing excessive, found it put too much strain on my shoulder joints. So far, it hasn't bothered me and hopefully it stays that way! Definitely recommend giving those a try, if not, get it checked out by a Dr. Cheers

Rotator Cuff and shoulders clicking BEASTIX 10 5 yearsCrypt (100): I have had problems with rotator cuffs, to the extent I now do not do any over head lifting. Before any upper body gym days, take a few minutes to warm the rotator cuffs up by doing exercises for them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6MMD5L7498 And do the shoulder shocker instead of overhead lifting to build up strength in your shoulders and rotator cuffs. Another thing is to by a resistance band and perform 100 band pulls a day.

Forward Rolled Shoulder - Help? asianpower 4 5 yearsAKK (1998): i wouldnt go stretching your shoulder throw an extreme range a motion or any type of stretching that involves putting it through a ROM and holding it there, a static stretch I believe is the technical name.
